Possible effects: integration of migrants into the Libyan labor market

17/12/2023

Libya’s Government of National Unity, headed by Abdulhamid AlDabaiba, organized a ministerial conference for member states of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States in Tripoli from 27-28 November 2023, titled “Safe Mediterranean and Stable South”; with the aim of formulating a plan to integrate migrants in the Libyan labor market, funded by the European Union.

The conference, which lasted over two days in Tripoli, culminated in a working document called “The Tripoli Declaration on the Governance of Labor Mobility and Employment,” which serves as an action plan that the concerned parties must abide by to reach consensus on addressing the dilemmas of irregular migration and achieving development in migration-sending countries.
