The ongoing armed conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces since April raises many questions concerning the future of the political and military situation in Sudan. Military confrontations are still unfolding between the two sides, and each of them is trying to change the balance of power on the ground to strengthen its stance in the case of negotiation.
The conflict became more complicated in light of a number of recent developments, including the failure of the last round of Jeddah negotiations to reach positive outcomes, in addition to the UN Security Council’s announcement of the termination of the UN mission “UNITAMS” in Sudan.
