The Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps Navy, Admiral Alireza Tangsiri announced the establishment of the Naval Mobilization Forces (Naval Basij), consisting of 55 thousand members and many boats, equipped with weapons including 107 mm missiles.

Basij emerged following the Islamic Revolution, especially the Iranian-Iraqi War, in which Basij acquired its ideological characteristics through the guerrilla actions of its affiliates, many of whom sacrificed their lives to open roads to the Army and the Revolutionary Guards, by clearing minefields and breaking into Iraqi fortifications. It is worth noting that the IRGC is training and qualifying Basij members to become a supportive mechanism for the Iranian regime.
