One of the media arms of Al-Shabaab group in Somalia, al-Kata’ib Foundation, released a 10-minute video on January 28, that showed Al-Shabaab terrorists engaging in direct combat with several members of the Somali special forces during an attack on five Somali special forces’ bases in “Mudug” in central Somalia.

This release comes in light of the intensification of the military offensives targeting the strongholds and bases of Al-Shabaab movement in Somalia, and the recent achievement of notable field successes by these offensives with regard to the liberation of many sites in central Somalia from the terrorist movement. Accordingly, the movement seeks to claim a state of “steadfastness” in the face of these operations, and to demonstrate its ability to adopt operations in areas under the control of the Somali government.
