A message from the Center’s Head: Egypt and a New Term for President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi

The Egyptian state embarks on a new phase with a new term for President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, marked by exceptional achievements made throughout the previous phase, as well as unprecedented initiatives that received praise from the inside as well as the outside of Egypt, and validated that the Egyptian state, under its political leadership, reserved an advanced position among the emerging regional and global systems. These initiatives also highlighted how Egypt is forging ahead with plans from previous years, putting Egypt in a worthy position in light of the many crises and challenges the entire region faces on various levels. Thanks to the expertise and professionalism of its major institutions and agencies, Egypt is continuing its pursuit of political and security stability as it seeks to build the future.

With a new term for Mr. President, the focus should be on the notion of prioritization alongside the primary duties that Mr. President identified when his excellency announced the new republic with all its pillars, foundations, and its endeavor to develop the structure of the contemporary Egyptian state, to keep pace with the changes taking place around the Egyptian state, with its various ministries and institutions, whether on the political, social, economic or external levels, where presidential diplomacy succeeded in achieving a political and strategic presence for the Egyptian state, especially since Egypt succeeded skillfully in creating a balance in the pattern of its relations with regional and international powers, and contributed to maintaining international peace and security, and perhaps what happened in dealing with developments in Gaza affirms this end.

Egypt, with a new mandate for Mr. President, attentively examines the threats and challenges facing the region and urges the Egyptian state, with its accumulated experience and vast capabilities, to determine Arab, regional, and international courses of action. This is based on the nature of the disciplined paths and orientations that Egypt is pursuing, which are agreed upon by all parties that acknowledge Egypt’s position in the Arab and regional spheres.

A genuine social contract that outlines the roles of citizens and the state in confronting threats to the Egyptian state and impeding its advancement, as well as the achievement of the state’s main objectives within the constraints it is currently focusing on, is necessary for the Egyptian state to succeed with a new term for Mr. President. Moreover, it necessitates adhering to disciplined public policies in line with a social vision that elevates the value of hard work and accomplishment while addressing risks and challenges, and sets the directional compass within the framework of the major national project, the course of which is decided by the President and the national institutions of state, which collaborate to map out future courses and choose harmonious internal and foreign policy directions within a single operating system, which requires faith in the constants and facts of the new republic, and its renewed responsibilities, in accordance with the accomplishments and goals that need to be pursued, which places as its top priorities an internal focus on the stability of the nation, activating the role of political parties and civil society, and making room for more responsible freedoms, while unleashing the creative capabilities of promising Egyptian youth to help build their country, focusing externally on making room for the Egyptian presence in the region, and participating in resolving Arab and regional crises with an emphasis on protecting Egyptian national security by focusing on the priorities of the strategic domains of the Egyptian state, which requires to continuously develop the capabilities of the Egyptian Armed Forces to confront the ongoing challenges and renewed threats that require continuing vigilance to confront all developments at various levels.

With a new term for Mr. President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, we renew our pledge, we come together to build the new republic, and we move forward with confident steps, capable capacities, and thoughtful and planned strategies. We hope to surpass the accomplishments and aspirations of this great, special country that deserves an advanced position among nations, a forerunner of what before, and a pioneer for what comes after.
