Turkish-Israeli relations have witnessed tangible changes recently, coinciding with the continuation of Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip. Although relations have improved in accordance with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s “Century of Turkey” strategy announced in 2023, which aimed to reform Turkey’s relations with regional countries, including Israel, the Turkish stance against the Israeli escalation has resulted in new tensions in bilateral relations between the two countries.
The shift in the Turkish stance towards the Israeli side was primarily due to the ignition of Turkish public opinion, and its role in pressuring its government through demonstrations denouncing the Israeli escalation against civilians in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the pressure proposed by some parties that called for Turkish intervention and adopting more decisive role to stop Israeli violations in Gaza.
