In quick succession, elections were held in several European countries, which witnessed a domination for the far-right bloc in countries like Italy, Hungary, and the Netherlands. Following the European Union Parliament elections in each of its member states, which saw far-right political parties win a sizable share of the votes in France and Germany—two nations of particular significance to the EU—concerns inside and beyond Europe grew.
One of the reasons for the concern of the majority in European countries about the continuous rise of extreme right-wing parties, especially in the European Union countries, is the tendency of the extreme right towards nationalist beliefs and a culture of intolerance for the culture and local specificity of each country. This trend goes contrary to the fundamental principles of the emergence and development of the European Union.
