Recently, some regional and international efforts have intensified in an attempt to resolve the Sudanese crisis and push all parties to reach an agreement that includes a ceasefire. This comes in light of the worsening of the Sudanese crisis for the second year in a row, the faltering of ceasefire efforts, and the deterioration of the political, economic, and humanitarian conditions in Sudan.
Current givens suggest that multiple regional and international paths will yield some positive results in order to reach a political settlement of the Sudanese crisis, based on several main issues, most notably: the return of international interest in the developments of the conflict in Sudan, after the international community’s interest during the recent period focused on developments in the situation in Gaza and the war in Ukraine, in addition to the escalation of regional movements calling for the necessity of settling the Sudanese crisis politically.
