The recent period has witnessed a growth in Gulf-European relations, and a common desire to strengthen them and reach unprecedented levels, as several meetings were held that reflected the keenness of the Gulf and European sides to establish constructive dialogues to enhance cooperation and joint coordination, towards bilateral, regional, and international issues.
Despite the clear desire to strengthen relations between the two sides, there are challenges that may hinder these positive trends, the most prominent of which is the difference in approaches on how to deal with threats in the Middle East or Europe, which was evident in the Gulf stance towards the Russian-Ukrainian war, which did not fully compatible with the European stance, in addition to the internal differences, whether within the Gulf or European bloc, on dealing with certain security issues.
